Of course, these halts would ease off much much of the rush New Delhi gets from these places for catching trains.
People come in hordes from Ghaziabad just to board trains that skip Ghaziabad. Proper residents of New Delhi normally don't have time to waste in trains, they simply go for flights. It's the Upper Middle Class - Lower Middle Class People from Old Delhi, Palam, Outer Areas, and surrounding cities coming to catch trains from New Delhi.
At the very least rush from these Cities could get controlled through these halts. Sabarmati,...
more... Borivali and Kalyan are serving in similar manner to Premium Trains. Even Gurugram has a halt which mostly has Flights oriented Populous but Train Oriented Ghaziabad and Faridabad don't.

Lots of people swarm in from Ghaziabad just to catch trains that don't stop there. Rich folk from New Delhi don't take trains because it's a waste of time - instead they go for flights. It's the middle-class folks from Old Delhi, Palam, the outer areas, and nearby cities who come to catch trains from New Delhi. If there were more stops in these areas, at least some of the rush could be controlled. Sabarmati, Borivali, and Kalyan already have similar stops for premium trains. Even Gurugram has a stop for flights, but Ghaziabad and Faridabad which are more train-oriented, don't.
