Any idea what is the latest update on this ? Is this going to replace the Shatabdi Express ( MYS-MAS) ? Same TT, but people end up paying more !!
If that is the case would be interesting to see where the rake of Shatabdi will be sent or used ?

The route between Mumbai and SBC isn't completely electrified. That can be a hurdle in introducing a superfast train between these two metro cities

Just for info:
1. Solapur SF covers YPR SUR in 11.5 hours. Add 4 hours for SUR PUNE and 3.5 hours for PUNE LTT. Total 19 hours. A direct train can definitely save another 30 minutes.
2. Mumbai Bangalore is app. 1100 kms, Mumbai Chennai is around 1200 kms. Fastest train to these cities take 22 hours. Compare this with Mumbai Jaipur (1100 Kms) slowest train with loco reversal also covers in 20 hours.
3.

CSMT TVC via KJM takes 23 hours to cover CSMT Salem 1350 kms, but 1100 kms coverage takes around same time.
4. In Konkan railway route - single track (partial doue) with tunnels, more than half a dozen trains take 20 to 21 hours to cover Mumbai Ernakulam (1200 kms).
5. Chennai/ Bangalore to Mumbai via Guntakal Solapur is fully double line, with almost 90% electrified. But benefits of doubling and electrification not felt.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
