Traveled yesterday from Gurugram to Jaipur by 12413 Pooja exp and Jaipur to Gurugram by 12016 shatabdi exp and some observation i made during the journey.......
1.) Since it was Sunday evening 12016 was jam packed between Jaipur and Delhi. Despite Being Shatabdi it never went above 105 kmph and most of the time train was traveling at a speed between 100-105 kmph. Train was before at Jaipur then it followed a series of late arrival at Bandikui , Alwar , Rewari and Gurugram. This train use to touch 110 kmph earlier but is there any reason behind decrease of mps in the down direction ?Reached 30 mins late at Gurugram , 15 - 20 min late has become a regular

affair for this train now.... Disappointing how IR is treating its one of the most prestigious train.
2.) Traveled on Pooja Express on Saturday between Gurugram to Jaipur was surprised to observe that the train which was mostly doing around 100 kmph in Gurugram - Rewari Section actually over speeded between Bandikui and Jaipur. Train was comfortably doing around 115 kmph (Screen Shot for reference). Pooja was late by 30 mins at Gurugram and reached around 10:40 at Jaipur. Shatabdi covered and caught pooja at Jaipur station by reaching 10 mins late... so i am assuming it also does 110-115 kmph in New Delhi - Jaipur direction.. now the question arises why is there such difference between up and down mps on this section???
Regards

1.) Pooja might not be the best choice but economical choice between GGN and Jaipur but on the other hand people pay more to travel in shatabdi and keeping shatabdi on time and making it more faster should be the priority of Railways because it will help reducing the number of cars on over crowded NH 8. I take both Pooja and Shatabdi , Shatabdi more oftenly as it departs around 7:00 AM from Gurgaon and you have to wake up very early to catch pooja.
2.) What are the impacts of electrification on the speed of train ? why speeds have been reduced due to electrification is there any specific reason for that?
3.)

point 2) - they are doing electrification without taking block on line. As drilling machines , other machine and manpower work very near to railtrack ( about 5 feet or so) and it is very busy section, it is advised not to run on mps to avoid any mishap.
point 3) - currently North Western railway changing/upgrade tracks in Ajmer-palanpur section which is not completed till now and no planning of this section in this year.
Yes, the complete Delhi-Ahmadabad track will be upgraded for 130kmps, plan is old but when will complete

nobody know.
Currently NWR is doubling the Alwar-Bandikui section (only which is single line in Delhi-Jaipur). About 30 km work will complete at end of this year and rest at starting/mid of next. After that crossing problem will be solve completely. Most of the train get delayed in this particular section only.

Are they planning a shorter route to Jaipur as this route is unnecessarily 60 Kms long then existing highway plus it does not touches lucrative industrial areas between Delhi Jaipur such as Neemrana , Behror , Kotputli , Poata etc. ?
As the Delhi Jaipur Expressway is in planning stage Delhi-Jaipur will become 3 hours affair in the coming years. They really need a shorter and faster route to compete !!

No planning.
There are already two routes for Jaipur
(1) Dli-Rewari-Ringas-Jaipur and (2) Dli-Rewari-Alwar-Bandikui-Jaipur
one more new line work is under construction between Delhi and alwar via Nuh,firozpur.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
