A very welcome initiative, as the loss of revenue due to without ticket travel shall be almost eliminated.
This step is difficult to implement in stations of small towns & cities where people are not accustomed to such such gates.
But when implemented, shall help reduce the ticket-less travel as without-ticket paxs shall not be able to enter platform & board trains.

ECR etc Stations should be covered first as the instances of without-ticket travel are high.
This system should be a compulsory feature of the 400 odd stations selected for upgradation under PPP scheme.

* Kum se kum Flexifare trains (Rajdhani-Shatabdi-Duronto-Humsafar) ki vacant seats seats/berths bharne lagegi.
* Gift of RM/IR to its employees who will get opportunity to avail premium trains which common people are unable to, due to very high Flexifares.
* It means contrary to reports that IR is planning to stop Flexifare scheme, IR appears to be in a mood to continue the Flexifare scheme. This appears to be an attempt to silent the allegations frequently made that Flexifare trains are going vacant.

It was reported that in spite of very poor occupancy, the flexifare has resulted in extra few hundred crore Rs to IR. Premium trains will continue to give extra revenue of 200-500 Crores per annum to IR, with only a fraction of seats sold (about 50-70%), and rest shall be occupied by non paying pass holders.
* Premium trains which earlier were said to be trains of Privileged Rich people, gradually became accessible to Middle class/ common man in last 10-12 years due to rising incomes. But with Flexifare, these trains have again become trains of Privileged rich class and now onwards, of course Passholders.
