- SECR trunk line (JSG-NGP) is bearing brunt of a large number of freight trains, this section especially the JSG-Durg is almost like a freight corridor. Number of Freight trains operated is double the number of passenger trains and is of the order of 100 trains/day. Running 160 kmph trains on such section is a difficult task.
* It would be better if the double line DFC is constructed on top priority on JSG-Durg section (350kms) as first phase of proposed Mumbai-Kolkata DFC and freight trains be shifted before operating semi high-speed trains.
