However, with elections approaching, elected representatives sided with the encroachers, leading the administration to back down. The administration then sought an alternative route, and the PWD requested the railway to allow them to connect the highway with their area. On February 2nd, the Executive Engineer of PWD, Kamal Kant, wrote a letter to the ACTM, Amit Sudarshan, requesting permission. Following this, the ACTM received approval from higher authorities and granted permission for road construction on April 18th. The road will connect the highway, starting from Deepa Chowk, via the Entertainment Center and New Railway Colony. It will run alongside the railway line towards Agra Rail Overbridge, near Banna Ashram, and finally connect to the highway near FH Medical College.
