The Union government, through Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, has expressed interest in taking over the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) from the State government. this willingness, following similar statements by Bengaluru South BJP MP Tejasvi Surya. The BSRP is currently being executed by a joint venture between the State government and Indian Railways, but faces delays. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier set a 40-month completion target, but the State government has now set a new deadline of end-of-2027. Meanwhile, the Railway Board has approved initial works for a 287-km Circular Railway Network for Bengaluru, connecting towns like Doddaballapur, Devanahalli, Malur, Heelalige, and Solur.

Union government, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw ke through, Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) ko state government se leke chalane ka interest dikha rahe hain. government ne is baat ko openly kaha hai, isse pehle Bengaluru South BJP MP Tejasvi Surya ne bhi aisa kaha tha. BSRP abhi state government aur Indian Railways ke beech joint venture se chal raha hai, lekin isme delay ho raha hai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi ne pehle 40 months mein project complete karne ka target rakha tha, lekin state government ne ab end-of-2027 ki deadline set ki hai. Iske saath hi, Railway Board ne Bengaluru ke liye 287-km Circular Railway Network ke initial works ko approve kar diya hai, jisme Doddaballapur, Devanahalli, Malur, Heelalige, aur Solur jaise towns connect honge.
