The administration is awaiting instructions from the Maharashtra Rail Corporation (Maharail) regarding the utilization or return of the acquired land and the compensation paid to the landowners. The new route, extending the line by 33 km, is expected to make travel between Mumbai and Shirdi more efficient. Despite the announcement, the district administration is in a wait-and-see mode until they receive specific instructions from Maharail.
