Sir, I beg to differ but please note Pamban Bridge is NOT the Ram Sethu Bridge as it is usually confused with mythical Adam's Bridge (Ram Sethu) which lies’ much further sunken in sea off Dhanushkodi coast. It's an shallow shoal of submerged limestone rocks forming shape of a chain running all the way to Sri Lanka. There is no science or history which can ever shed light on this mystery Adam's bridge or so called RamSethu.

Just a small correction.
The line that was washed away in 1964 was the Pamban-Dhanushkodi line, not RMM-Dhanushkodi. RMM Dhanushkodi line was dismantled in 1927 and the main line was diverted to run directly to Dhanushkodi from Pamban.
Also, the train that got washed away was not on the Pamban bridge. It was at the outskirts of Dhanushkodi village.

Great News...
But My suggestion: Bridge is need to be Rail-Cum-Road bridge so that Road Connectivity also Spread Via This Bridge...It will Increase Cost One time but It will given Great Connectivity..

Road bridge is planned separately adjacent to the existing road bridge..As per news the road bridge will be eight lane and would run on pillars for almost 1KM after crossing the sea towards Rameswaram side inorder to have less impact on habitants..
