There might be many stations enroute which also would not have any train to any where else …
Things are not planned like that .. you can not build railway line to each village … you build alternative transportation system which are more feasible and viable ..
like phaphund and Kanpur will never have a Namo train system … or Kanpur is a big city but it does not have a direct international flight to anywhere ! For that matter even Lucknow is not connected with London but Delhi is .....
more... and that’s how people of Lucknow traveling abroad by coming to Delhi and catching plane to European destination apart from some gulf cities which are connected … this is called Hub and Spoke system .. and this is what is going to happen with IR in the future ..
these city might not have a direct train to Delhi in the morning but would surely have multiple connection to CNB and near by major centres (10000 daily trips) … because the trips to the near by cities would be much much greater than the trip demand to Delhi ( say 100 daily trips …)
In future … IR would expect people to move to a bigger hub via Vande Metro or local train and then change and continue there journey to the bigger city ..
This is what is viable for all …
