In the case of 16303/04 ERS TVC ERS Vanchinad Express, running time has only increased with doubling of railway line!
During its initial years, Vanchinad covered 221 km from ERS to TVC in 4 hours or so(with DLS traction on a single line track, with just 2 stoppages @ KTYM & QLN). But now, it takes 4 hours 55 minutes to cover the same distance, with the train running almost 75% of the distance in double line, with Electric traction. Incidentally, the stoppages have increased to 17!!

Speed might increase a bit, running time will reduce since trains may not be stopped at stations for crossings. So overall i feel that there might be reduction of running time. At least for the important exp trains, they should do it. A train like kerala express, takes almost 4 hrs 30 min between TVC & ERS

I think the train spends approx 45-50 min from arrival to ERN to dep from ERS after loco reversal. This can be easily avoided unfortunately passenger associations createdd lots of nosie and it again came back to ERS.

Vanchinad Express has no loco reversal anywhere; it originates from ERS & terminates @ TVC. While returning, it starts from TVC & ends @ ERS.
You seem to have mistaken Vanchinad for Venad Express(16301/02 SRR - TVC - SRR), which comes to ERS, loco reverses and continues to TVC.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
