The work on the Jhansi-Mahoba section is progressing at a much faster pace. By the end of this year, the Mahoba-Harpalpur and Mauranipur-Tehraka sections will be doubled.

Thank you for 33 years of Glorious service to Malda Division, Eastern Railway. The first train to undergo PM at MLDT CDO. Without you Malda Division couldn't have achieved the position as of today. Since 1991 we Malda , Farakka , Sahibganj Public never felt this is a worst train but Old train no will still be remebered among people here.Without this train no one could have ever heard the name of Malda District, Farakka Barrage,...

Which trains have been slowed down? I only see Withdrawal of SF Status, nearly Every long distance train had SF status.
Withdrawal is an indication that the train has been slowed down

What could be the reason Koraput having 5 pfs? Hardly a dozen trains pass through this station.
That's so far a bit of a mystery really, and something for ECoR and Waltair Division to justify. In fact, even until last month when I last visited, station building redevelopment works were ongoing in full swing despite the sheer lack of trains. The two new PFs had come up with doubling works on both KRDL-KTV and KRPU-RGDA lines picking up pace and this led to optimism of new trains being on the cards (add to it the fact that the Railway Minister is also an MP from Odisha) but almost nothing has happened in that direction. All that said, there is a fair amount of freight movement in the area, mostly from Kirandul and Jagdalpur, and also because of the bauxite mines in nearby Damanjodi.
