If any ticket remains in wl and not confirmed whether vikalp ppeltion really worth it
Based on my experience, I can say VIKALP is the most useless scheme of railway. I saw current booking seats getting disappearing in front of my eyes thinking vikalp would take care of my accomodation, but all it does is assign some leftover seat after current booking (second charting).
So Actually this might be a useful option for someone very lazy to even check for current availability. But if you really want yourself to get a seat in alternate train, just keep checking the current availability and book it manually and then cancel you original ticket. It might cost you cancellation charges but atleast you'll get yourself a confirmed seat.

Srikakulam Road is the nearest railway station to Srikakulam city. It is 15 KM from Srikakulam. There is no facilities in this railway station. There is a demand to provide a new railway line from Dusi Railway station( nearly 9 KM) to Srikakulam and re-connect to Srikakulam road. This benefits 5 lakhs peoples in Srikakulam. There is many Engineering College, Degree Colleges, Medical Colleges, and other educational institutions, Officer, and business nearly Srikakulam. Srikakulam is small city in Andhra Pradesh and it is a District Headquarter of Srikakulam. Daily thousands of peoples are visit Srikakulam . Srikakulam had no railway connectivity so people are use only Buses.
