If u wish to go to Udupi city/service bus stand, Krishna Math or Manipal & in case if you don't want to shell out more money for very short distance (PS:- if you don't have luggage & family) once you get out of station walk towards North it would hardly require 12 to 15 mins to go there you can get plenty of govt. Pvt. Buses going towards udupi/Manipal ticket fares is below ₹20 it's better then giving ₹50 or more for prepaid auto rickshaw counter

Udupi Station has only some light refreshment stalls on PF 1. PF2 has only a small strip of shelter like a village R.S.
The station is slightly on an elevated level. There is an elevator to reach the car park from just outside PF 1.
A small budget lodge and an eatery is there just behind tourist car park. Udupi city centre is about 4 kms from the station and Udupi-Manipal highway is about half a km away.

Thanks, I could not forget the best ever breakfast which I had at UD while I was on journey on 56640. The train stopped here for about 20 minutes due to some issue (requiring a foreign passenger to buy ticket who boarded without ticket, the railway police helped her too much. She missed to get down at Karwar from Mangala express as she slept & Mangala was about 12 hours late. She thus got down from Mangala at UD and got into this train).

Traveled in 56640 4 days ago and had a similar experience at UD. A small stall on the KAWR end dishes out some of the best Upma, Buns, Goli Bajjis and Lemon rice I have tasted. Needless to say, they were fresh adn hot. The lone TTE of the train suggested the shop and he himself packed all the items for BF.
Wow, looks like railways should give a 5 minute halt at UD to relish tasty food!!! I think we both are talking about same stall :) That day he had Neer dosa with kuruma, samosa etc.
to find out the best options at any station, its better to take tips from local rly staff, even pantry guys and coach attendants relish food from local stalls:-)

Don't take 12134 as it runs with just one rake. so if 12133 gets delayed, 12134 will definitely get delayed.

It Depends upon the Priority given by KR to 12133/4 & also the LP.... Though it will depart late from MAJN or UD it will be on time while arriving mumbai during mansoon... Expected delay can be 15 mins to 2 hrs at UD depending upon climate & KR.... For safety purposes 12134 is best....
Year by year, amenities are getting improved. Good move!

There is a prepaid auto stand here, rly stn to ksrtc/private bustand Rs 80/-, you can take buses to all places from there. Cloak room, Retiring room available too, , can be booked online without Pnr on KR site, room timing 8 am to 8 am (24 Hrs.)
