KR DOUBLING & ELECTRIFICATION:

#KR has been in the news lately when they disclosed their plans for #Doubling & #Electrification of Konkan Railway. The salient features are as under:

The project survey will be completed in 1 month from date. So max by Nov end we will be able to get in depth details of the project.

2. The cost of Doubling will be Rs. 15000 crore or approx. Rs. 20 crore per km.

3. The cost of Electrification will be Rs. 600 crore

4. The project is expected to get completed in say 4 to 5 years max.

5. The govt will have to write off Rs. 3000 crore loss of KR and give it a big push so that this project can be started.

For the challenges, benefits and comments alike, I roll the dice onto the forum....

esteemed passengers and customers to convey their experiences in the form of a Letter, which are proposed to be published in the in-house magazine of Konkan Railway to be released on the Foundation Day of KRCL on 15th October, 2015. The experience may include pleasant memories, the change of face of KR which they have seen over the years, step by step improvement in services observed during the years, overall experience of journey etc.
The Letters (in not more than 150 words), along with Passport size photograph of the Letter writer, may kindly be e-mailed to dgm_trg@konkanrailway.gov.in latest by 30/7/2015. Letters may be sent in languages spoken along KR route. The right of inclusion or otherwise of any Letter in the magazine rests with KRCL.
