The train remained stranded for approximately two and a half hours, causing considerable distress to passengers due to the scorching heat. The technical team from the South East Central Railway Zone Headquarters in Bilaspur took several hours to diagnose and fix the problem. The train finally reached Bilaspur with a delay of about three hours.
