There is plan to build 2 new washing pit lines, one 513m long and another 379m, long enough to handle 22 and 17 coach trains. Currently, there are 2 pit lines, each of 550m length, and one washing pit of 555m length. They can handle 24 coach rakes.
There is also another facility planned to build 3 washing pit lines for 24 coach rakes, with hydrant and street light facilities. The location will be between the Mandar Hill line and railway colony. I have also read in newspapers (unconfirmed) that Bhagalpur coaching depot will be exclusively for LHB rakes, and ICF rake maintenance will be shifted to Tikani.
