An investigation by the Commercial & Catering Supervisor confirmed the overcharging, leading to a fine of Rs. 20,000 on Sopan and Rs. 10,000 on Shiv & Sons. Failure to pay the fine within 10 days will result in further action by the railway. This is not the first time stalls at Tatanagar station have been fined for overcharging on bottled water and other food items.
