The section from Bagnan to Andul is super congested. The section from Dasnagar to Howrah is congested. Freight trains have increased more than 100 times in last 2 years. Almost 98% trains in SER in KGP-HWH Section is running late everyday. Even trains reaching Kharagpur with 5 mins delay is ending up reaching Santragachi with 1 hr delay and Howrah with 1hr 30 mins delay.
The route from Howrah to Barddhaman has almost 4(chord line, 4th line part completed)+3(main line)=7 lines. Whereas the route from Howrah to Kharagpur still has only 3 lines with huge Freight traffic. The survey for Santragachi -Kharagpur 4th line is going on for last almost 4 to 5 years now still project not started. Total...

The section from KGP-SRC now needs 5th line based on traffic, but due to ignorance by RB, only 3 lines till date, resulting in huge delays of all passenger carrying trains just to give 1st priority to freight trains.

Like seriously, even if a train arrives in Kharagpur just 5 minutes late, it ends up being 1 hour late in Santragachi and 1 hour and 30 minutes late in Howrah.
So check it, the route from Howrah to Barddhaman is like lit with 7 lines (4 chord lines and the 4th line part is done, plus 3 main lines). But bro, the route from Howrah to Kharagpur is still stuck with only 3 lines and it's got mad freight traffic. They've been surveying for the Santragachi-Kharagpur 4th line for like 4 to 5 years now and they still haven't started the project. The Railway Board is straight up sleeping on SER, not giving them no attention.
And yo, the KGP-SRC section needs a 5th line because of the traffic, but the Railway Board couldn't care less. They've only got 3 lines till now, which is causing major delays for all the passenger trains. They be prioritizing freight trains like they're VIPs or something.
