I had read in news that it will be operational by end of 2014, though 2015 seems more likely. They still haven't started rehauling the rail line connecting Jamalpur with Munger. The Munger railway station is coming up. I have seen pictures that shows it will have a big station building, and underpass linking the platforms instead of overbridge.

Thanks for providing information on the status of this railway route. After the rail bridge was completed with much fan fare last year, there has been no news on this project. It is disappointing to see the wastage of resources. railways knew this bridge was coming up - it has been going on since 2002 and Rs 500 crores spent in the construction. 12 years not enough to plan and build connecting tracks and upgrade railway stations on this route.

Yes, once completed, this will benefit the region. "The waste of nations resources" comment refers to the delay. Railways could have planned and started the line as soon as the bridge was completed. Now, due to delay, there is loss of revenue to railways and no service available to people even after spending a huge amount of money to build the bridge.
