Those who affected by the metro and suburban will oppose it using various reasons, Irony is those who oppose it are very minority with strong lobby than majority people who benefit out of it. Cities like Oslo, Helsinki which have comparable population of 2 tier cities in India like Trichy, Tirupathy, Belagavi has more metro, tram and sub urban than what our metros have. Government should understand it and promote sustainable public transport using good means.

Wow, never knew that individuals travelling by their individual vehicles emitting more greenhouse gases by burning the oils derived from the fossils are environment friendly and leads to sustainable development, as told by the so called nature lovers, instead of travelling collectively under a common vehicle that can carry thousands, minimise the traffic in the city and being operated through electricity.

Losing some trees is really bad for construction of path for such a common transport whose carrying capacity is more and which is operated through cleaner fuel and less green...

విజయవాడ రైల్వే డివిజన్‌ మరింత విస్తరించనుంది. రానున్న రోజుల్లో గోల్డెన్‌ క్వాడ్రలైన్‌ కాబోతోంది. విజయవాడ డివిజన్‌లో అతిముఖ్యమైన విజయవాడ-గూడూరు, విజయవాడ-దువ్వాడ సెక్షన్ల మధ్య నాలుగు లైన్ల (క్వాడ్రలైన్‌) ట్రాక్‌ను అభివృద్ధి చేయాలని రైల్వే నిర్ణయించింది. యుద్ధప్రాతిపదికన రైల్వే ఫైనల్‌ లొకేషన్‌ సర్వే (ఎఫ్‌ఎల్‌ఎస్‌)ను చేపట్టింది.

ఫైనల్‌ లొకేషన్‌ సర్వే (ఎఫ్‌ఎల్‌ఎస్‌) జరుపుతున్న రైల్వే అధికారులు

విజయవాడ, మే 17 (ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి) : దేశంలోని అన్ని రైల్వేజోన్ల కంటే రికార్డు స్థాయిలో విజయవాడ డివిజన్‌ ఆదాయం సాధిస్తోంది. దీనిని దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని రవాణా కార్యకలాపాలను మరింత పెంచటం కోసం రైల్వేబోర్డు కూడా ఈ డివిజన్‌లో రైల్వేలైన్ల విషయంలో డబ్బు ఖర్చు పెట్టడానికి వెనుకాడటం లేదు. ఈ క్రమంలో గోల్డెన్‌ క్వాడ్రలైన్‌ను విస్తరించే దిశగా అడుగులు పడుతున్నాయి. విజయవాడ రైల్వే డివిజన్‌లో విజయవాడ-గూడూరు, విజయవాడ-దువ్వాడ సెక్షన్లు అతి ముఖ్యమైనవి. విజయవాడ నుంచి నెల్లూరు జిల్లా కనెక్టివిటీకి గూడూరు సెక్షన్‌, విజయవాడ నుంచి విశాఖపట్నం జిల్లా కనెక్టివిటీకి దువ్వాడ సెక్షన్లు కీలకపాత్ర పోషిస్తున్నాయి. ఈ మార్గంలో ఉన్నంత రద్దీ అంతా ఇంతా కాదు. ఈ గోల్డెన్‌ క్వాడ్రలైన్‌ను ఈ సెక్షన్ల నడుమే ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని చూస్తున్నారు.

శరవేగంగా..

సరుకు రవాణా రంగంలో విజయవాడ డివిజన్‌ సత్తా చాటుతోంది. మునుపెన్నడూ సాధించనంత రూ.5,600 కోట్ల పైబడి ఆదాయాన్ని 2023-24 ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలో సాధించింది. దీనికి ప్రధాన కారణం పోర్టులు ఉండటమే. కాకినాడ పోర్టు, కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టుల ద్వారా సింహభాగం ఆదాయాన్ని విజయవాడ రైల్వే డివిజన్‌ సాధించింది. ఈ రెండు సెక్షన్ల మధ్య కొత్తగా మరో నాలుగు పోర్టుల పనులు కూడా జరుగుతుండటంతో ఈ సంఖ్య మరింత పెరిగే అవకాశం ఉంది. దీనిని దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని పోర్టులకు కనెక్టివిటీ ఏర్పడితే రద్దీ లే కుండా చూసుకోవాల్సిన అంశాలపై రైల్వే ముందుచూపుతో క్వాడ్రలైన్‌పై దృష్టి సారించింది. అందుకే విజయవాడ-దువ్వాడ, విజయవాడ-గూడూరు సెక్షన్లను నాలుగు లైన్లుగా అభివృద్ధి చేయాలని నిర్ణయించింది. రైల్వేబోర్డు నుంచి కూడా సానుకూల సంకేతాలు వచ్చినట్టుగా తెలుస్తోంది. విజయవాడ-గూడూరు సెక్షన్‌లో ప్రస్తుతం ట్రిప్లింగ్‌ పనులు జరుగుతున్నాయి. ఈ పనులు దాదాపు పూర్తి కావచ్చాయి. గూడూరు నుంచి చుండూరు వరకు ట్రిప్లింగ్‌ పనులు పూర్తి కావటంతో పాటు ఫంక్షన్‌లోకి కూడా వచ్చింది. చుండూరు నుంచి కృష్ణా కెనాల్‌ జంక్షన్‌ వరకు 30 కిలోమీటర్ల మేర పనులు పురోగతిలో ఉన్నాయి. రానున్న అవసరాల దృష్ట్యా ఈ సెక్షన్‌లో నాల్గోలైన్‌ కూడా ఏర్పాటు చేయాలన్నది రైల్వే అధికారుల ఆలోచన. ఇక విజయవాడ-దువ్వాడ మధ్య ప్రస్తుతం డబ్లింగ్‌ మాత్రమే ఉంది. విజయవాడ నుంచి విశాఖపట్నం వెళ్లే ప్రధానమైన సెక్షన్‌ ఇది. అత్యంత రద్దీగా ఉండే ఈ సెక్షన్‌లో మూడోలైన్‌ పనులు చేపట్టాలని ఎప్పటి నుంచో డిమాండ్‌ వస్తోంది. ఇలాంటి పరిస్థితుల్లో రైల్వే అధికారులు మూడో లైన్‌తో పాటు నాలుగో లైన్‌ ఆలోచన చేయటం కూడా మంచి విషయం. లొకేషన్‌ సర్వే (ఎఫ్‌ఎల్‌ఎస్‌)ను ప్రస్తుతం రైల్వే చేపడుతోంది. రైల్వేబోర్డు ఆమోదంతో పనులకు శ్రీకారం చుట్టే అవకాశం కనిపిస్తోంది.

Vijayawada Railway Division is expanding big time, man. In the coming days, the Golden Quadrilateral line will be passing through. In order to develop four lines (quadrupling) on the crucial Vijayawada-Gudur and Vijayawada-Duvvada sections in the Vijayawada division, the railway has decided to upgrade the tracks. The Railway has decided to undertake the Final Location Survey (FLS) for the war-prone railway area. Vijayawada Railway Division is achieving record revenue compared to all railway zones in the country. Under this consideration, the Railway Board has not allocated funds to bear the expenses of railway line-related developments in this division. In this sequence, eyebrows are being raised towards expanding the Golden Quadrilateral line. Vijayawada-Gudur and Vijayawada-Duvvada sections are the most important in Vijayawada Railway Division. The Gudur and Duvvada sections are crucial for connectivity to Nellore District from Vijayawada, and to Visakhapatnam District from Vijayawada, respectively. There are many ongoing and upcoming projects on this route. Officials are considering setting up four lines in these sections. Railway Board has also received favorable signals. Trains are currently operating on the Vijayawada-Gudur and Vijayawada-Duvvada sections. The operations are bound to be completed sooner. The connectivity between Gudur and Chunduru, where this track is tripled, has been completed. Beyond this, the functions have arrived at the junction. 30 kilometers of the Krishna Canal Junction segment have made substantial progress. In view of these opportunities, officials are considering setting up four lines in these sections. Currently, only doubling is happening between Vijayawada and Duvvada. Vijayawada-Vishakhapatnam section is the main section for setting up four lines. Given the high demand for services on this route, railway authorities are keen on setting up both triple and quadruple lines in these sections soon. The said authorities are contemplating setting up four lines along with the existing three lines. The final location survey is currently being conducted by the railway. With approval from the Railway Board, it looks favorable for work to bring progress with proper acknowledgment to tasks. #andhraRailwayInfra #BZA #Scr

1.They should first connect ongole with Darsi so that Ongole Secunderabad distance reduces by 80km bypassing Guntur then Ongole Giddalur. They should lay new lines strategically that they reduce distances to metro cities. Ongole Hyd distance is 330km by road and are being covered in 5.5-6 hrs by buses coming from Chennai.

2. They should construct VJA Bypass from Diggirala to Gudivada line and further to Veeravalli in Duvvada section and should be double line.

Good that SWR took extra efforts to run many interstate trains. Can SWR specify how many extra intrastate trains (of other zones towns) run during summer ?
For example, Belagavi to Kalaburagi/ Bidar or Ballari to Mangalore or Mysore/ Hassan to Raichur etc.

That was my first thought when I read this article . It is good that interstate special trains are run , but unfortunately the issue of intra-state connectivity still persists . As the saying goes " Too many cooks spoil the broth " , similarly, too many zones for a single state have messed up intra state connectivity for Karnataka. None of them , including SWR want to shoulder responsibility in this regard. In this aspect, Tamil Nadu and kerela are relatively better placed.
