For those who might not have seen my journey on the double-headed ICF Rajdhani in 1995. Here is part 1 from BCT till RTM.
This was my last journey on the double-headed Bombay Rajdhani and in ICF avatar. It was also my first with Pushkar Apte who I have known since 1989. We couldn't have asked for a better start - Bombay Central to Vadodara in 4 hours 21 minutes non-stop; not a single unscheduled halt. Now, THAT'S priority! This video covers the journey till Raltam.
Be sure to enjoy the following:
- Arrival of WCAM1-hauled Gujarat Exp. at Bombay Central with two First Class Chair Cars
- Departure from Bombay Central
- August Kranti Rajdhani rake at the pit lines
- Races with DC EMUs
- Skips of Borivali, Dahanu Rd, Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Godhra
- Crossing with double-headed Ahmedabad Shatabdi (so a very rare crossing of double-headed Rajdhani with double-headed Shatabdi)
- Halt at Vadodara
- Crossing with WAP1-hauled Frontier Mail
- Arrival at Ratlam and attachment of Ghaziabad WAP1

Was there a section of the Bombay Central-Vadodara-Ratlam route that was un-electrified back then?

It was completely electrified. However, the WCAM1 loco had an MPS of 100 and Rajdhani required 120 between Virar and Godhra. So, diesels were employed until the WCAM2 was introduced.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
